We were only in Amherst long enough to take a few pictures, leave, and wish we'd left more time for exploring. Everything about the town was charming, including the vice-deputy mayor, who happened to drove by in the 10 minutes we spent there and welcomed us to their cute little town with a handshake and an Amherst pin for my lapel.
